The Masterpiece Specification

Aesthetics & Rarity

This is a T-Negative (Tyrosinase Negative) Albino, the purest form of albinism. Unlike caramel or heterozygous morphs, this animal produces zero melanin. The result is a shell that glows with vibrant hues of lemon, ivory, and gold. The eyes are a translucent ruby red, creating a striking contrast that is impossible to ignore. As it grows, the yellow coloration typically intensifies, making adult Albinos a walking ray of sunshine.

Investment Value

Sulcata Albinos represent a high-tier asset in the reptile market. Due to the recessive nature of the gene, producing them requires precise selective breeding over generations. Their value historically appreciates as the animal grows past the hatchling stage, as larger Albinos are incredibly rare and command premium prices in the global market (USA, EU, Asia).

Expert Husbandry

  • Lighting: Albinos are sensitive to light. Avoid direct, harsh midday sun. Use high-quality UVB (5.0) but provide plenty of shade.
  • Temperature: Basking spot 32-35°C, Ambient 28-30°C. Never let them get cold and damp simultaneously.
  • Humidity: 70-80% relative humidity for hatchlings to ensure smooth shell growth and prevent pyramiding. Daily soaks are recommended.
  • Diet: High fiber is key. Mazuri Tortoise Diet mixed with fresh grasses (Timothy/Orchard) and dark leafy greens.

Genetic Vigor

Contrary to common myths about albinos being frail, our line is bred for vigor ("Hybrid Vigor" principals). These specimens eat as aggressively as normal Sulcatas and grow at a comparable rate. We have strictly culled for shell deformities, ensuring you receive a "Perfect Scute" animal with a high survival rate.
